Pros: Amazon has amazing benefits. I think the culture overall is not bad. The main issue is compensation. You need to have strong time management skills to get things done and understand that things MOVE REALLY fast. There is a lot of diversity and opportunities to grow. I loved working at Amazon.
Cons: Depending on the business line and team that you land, it could be BAD BAD or amazing. There is favoritism for sure and people get promoted based on that unless you move to a different team. Some managers dont want the good ones to leave so they wont promote them.
There compensation and annual raises are terrible, you do not get a lot of base pay but do get a ton of stocks due to their compensation policy.

Pros: I worked at Amazon for 10+ years. The first 8 years were wonderful, full of opportunities to learn and think big.
Cons: The company changed drastically in the last 2 years I was there. Very cutthroat environment where everyone was constantly worried about being let go. As a middle manager, I ultimately fell victim to layoffs myself (something Amazon has been open about in the press).
Be nice and embrace differences in working style

Pros: - Great company that is always pushing forward
- You'll work with some really smart people
- You will be challenged, daily, and will grow from your experience
- If you are a top performer, you'll be taken care of
Cons: - Competitive environment... sometimes in a negative way that can become a bit cutthroat
- You're only as good as your most recent success
Continue to push the company forward, but do so while also keeping in mind how burnt out your associates are becoming

Pros: Pay is great for leadership roles, hours are great.
Cons: Working at this site is nothing compared to other sites. There are constant drug activities that management ignores, violence in the parking lot among employees. Bullying among coworkers.
Take charge of this site before it is shut down. They don't care about safety or your mental well-being. Get on board with other sites.

Pros: Great benefits. Education benefits within 90 days of employment. Health, vision, dental, and life insurance options available on day 1. You can pick the type of shift you want depending on what they have available. Lots of time off options. Every couple of years they've offered a raise to everyone. When I first joined, the base pay was 16.00 an hour. Now, it's 18.50. I have been there 2 years and I work nights, so my pay is at $23.10. Simple mudane work, and you don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to. It's perfect for those who don't wanna do customer service. Great exercise.
Cons: Can get very repetitive and boring. Long hours, so your body will hurt until you get used to it. Since computers monitor everything you do, depending on your position it's kinda easy to get written up if you make too many mistakes. If you don't have a degree, it's not easy to move up. You can, it will just take some time.
Acknowledge your hard workers and reward them with promotions. No favoritism.

Pros: Decent benefits, flexibility and work environment.
Cons: Be prepared to dedicate your life to the company and have no time left for your family. Also, taking parental leave will not help you with career advancement. When I came back from parental leave, my work was transferred to teammates, I received a low review and there was an attempt from my org to push me out of the company since I had the highest salary on my team and took leave to care for my son.
Prioritize work life balance and make performance reviews less subjective. Performance reviews should be purely data driven. You should not have to be best friends with your manager in order to receive exceeds high bar. Prioritize career growth and create a culture of team collaboration rather than a culture of team members competing with each other for credit in order to avoid getting laid off. Employee morale should be a priority. If employees enjoy what they are doing, they will exceed expectations.

Pros: Good pay. Occasional catered food. I honestly felt like my low-level leadership cared about me and situations I'm in.
Cons: Higher level leadership absolutely does not care about you and if so much as your face gets on your l6's nerves. He will take the first opportunity to get rid of you.
Do better.

Pros: If you can handle the fast pace work and constant changing environment, this is the job for you. A can do attitude and creative and flexible mind can get you moving up fast and give you options to transfer into any role you wish. I was hired as L4 and promoted in about a year to L5. My manager quickly asked if I was interested in a manager role and when I said no he gave me options for a sideways transfer that would included increased pay and further options to move to a higher job level. They even provide training programs to help you reach those goals.
Cons: The "Always Day 1" motto is no joke. If you can't keep up with the pace and burn out fast, or be able to take on tasks that move outside of your expertise then this may not be the company for you.

Pros: > Budgets are large
> Tech can be good
Cons: > Too large - there is a lot of planning around work, lots of docs, but the amount of real work vs doc writing is lopsided.
> Org structure is dysfunctional - Too many teams solving the same problem. Too little coordination between them.
> To become an L8 - you need time in role. This means, a lot of survivors (no matter how) have found themselves in leadership roles. They can (in many situations) be good at one thing - surviving.
You can reduce staffing by 30% - and your business wouldn't miss a beat. You will likely be more efficient.
