  • Still looking for the good company in there somewhereGlobal Commodity Manager | Austin, TX

    Salary - B | Culture - D | Management - D | Coworkers - C

Pros: Good benefits, 2 IVF cycles covered, 16 weeks paid parental leave, can take up to 4 additional out of PTO. Sharp coworkers. Good work life balance for the pay.
Cons: The reversal of Michael Dell's 2022 "work from anywhere, remote work is here to stay" to 2024 not allowing remote workers to change jobs or pursue promotions is gut punch for my career. Also Dell has laid off 20,000 people in 2024 and not issued any public statements or statements within the company fro C-level on why. Honestly 1 year ago I would have had a glowing review, this has all changed in 2024.

Be more transparent on the strategy and why you are doing layoffs

Pros: Global technology leader. AI growth leadership.
Cons: Contracting headcount to modernize, rapid internal changes have stretched teams, painful transition continues for next year at least.

Show some empathy at the highest levels. Feels like company & modernization is currently being run by robots & spreadsheets.
