Pros: I learned a lot about the IT manufacturing business and expanded my skill set. There are numerous social events to interact with other employees throughout the company both local and online.
Cons: I was told on a Monday morning that Thursday would be my last day due to "workforce reduction". The company works its employees hard including weekends and evenings. Even though you are told when you first start there that they encourage employees to move around within the company every 1 1/2 - 2 years, I was discouraged to do so by my supervisor. I told him during one of our 1x1 meetings that I'd like to find another role within the company to expand my skills and was "laid off" 2 weeks later. Very convenient. I know quite a few other co-workers that have been laid off from Dell.
Treat your employees like they are people, not numbers. I will never work for Dell again.

Make sure to hone in on skills that can apply to other companies, don't get stuck on knowing Dell specific technologies as it will be tough finding another job.

Listen to your employees, when they ask for new projects or have an issue...actually help them!!
