Pros: Salary and benefit okay, but drivers make more than you
Cons: If you want to work for UPS, do a Union job. Corporate will use and abuse you. My biggest regret was giving up my position as a driver to take a supervisor position. I made more money, and worked less hours than I ever did as a supervisor. This company does not invest in itself. I have been inside 6 different warehouses, all of which were in states of disarray. If UPS was not a monopoly, this company would fail. Turnover is ridiculous. There is "no money" to replace those leaving but "record profits". I have my doubts that this company will exist in 15 years.

Pros: Great benefits, company offers 401k match, minimum guaranteed hours. If you can get a good position, you're set for life.
Cons: You're in a waiting list for basically a decade or longer, and there's no real guarantee that a job will ever end up coming your way. It is generally not wise to enter management unless you're well connected.

Invest in the future of your people. Yes, you're going to need to cut down staff to some degree, but instead of starving out your part time supervisors, consider severance or alternate work. Certainly don't increase the hourly rate, slash the hours in half, and call that a big pay raise when it's effectively 10-20k less in take home when all is said and done. The contempt required to do that is extreme.

Pros: Great place to start work, great tea to work.
Cons: Limited carrier growth opportunities to go fulltime or progress.

Should provide more carrier growth opportunities for existing employees to grow and achieve their potential instead of losing good employees and hiring and training new.

    Salary - B | Culture - D | Management - F | Coworkers - C

Pros: Pay is good for drivers and decent for management. Though with salary comes the working management 10-15 hours a day sometimes. There is an annual bonus for full time management but during cost savings expect lower management to get half but upper management will still get theirs.
Cons: Typically complete chaos for management. Planning from corporate levels are always off on what packages will arrive and how many drivers you will need to deliver them which typically results in drivers working 13 hours and management having to figure out how to get everything delivered. The company typically functions on "just enough" resources. Barely enough drivers, barely enough trucks in order to cost save. Cost saving to the company means making driver and management work longer hours and refusing to staff more drivers. There is serious micromanagement. Division managers think they are the only ones who can make things work correctly. At center level management you are not trusted to make any significant decisions. Money is the push and anything, everything and everyone will be sacrificed to that end. Plenty of mismanagement at the higher levels and you will be expected to "make it work."

If you're looking for a career where you can make a difference or a feeling of purpose, this is not where to look. There are a lot of managers but very few leaders in this company. If you just want a good paycheck and are ok with wanting to pull your hair out nearly every day, this career is for you.
