Pros: Fun good pay for what the position is. good benefits free access to other arts institutions Most of the people are fantastic to work with. Flexible management and welcoming environment Culture is outwardly good and well intentioned but I would not recommend applying to a museum during a pandemic as they are undergoing drastic changes and the scripts have changed.
Cons: The pay was low and job expectations were a bit high no benefits or opportunity to become actual employee Bad management. Overworked underpaid work intensive culture not ethnically diverse
Perks discounts retirement matching Great Benefits! For a non-profit great PTO and health insurance The AIC benefits package is generous with its PTO; 25 days to begin for full-time hourly staff in addition to 12 paid holidays with the ability to rollover 10 unused PTO to use within the first 6 months of the next fiscal year.

Pros: The people with the best experiences I know have stayed 1 year and moved on. Inclusive to people of color but as someone said in other review it feels like you are a diversity hire and disposable if diversity numbers look good without you. Average benefits free entrances to other museums open to young workers at start of career but no ability to move up or increase pay after prolonged period of time. Culture is outwardly good and well intentioned but I would not recommend applying to a museum during a pandemic as they are undergoing drastic changes and the scripts have changed.
Cons: Departmental leadership created challenging environment to work in did not provide support where/when needed including not admitting when at fault at the expense of myself and colleagues
