#NAME?
- Brutal, blunt workforce reduction practices cut great talent - Such a large workforce that people are just number (and cost drivers) to the company, not individuals - Shareholder value is the ultimate goal, not employee happiness or work-life balance - inefficient, clunky decision-making processes drain time, energy, and money - strategically conservative, adverse to change, lags behind competitors in software innovation - ethics code doesn't align with corporate decisions when it comes to growth and profitability (e.g., broken promises about remote work) - high tolerance for toxic management and nepotism
Do a better job of living your culture code. Keep the promises you make to your employees. Find ways to grow and maintain profit without repeated cycles of scaling up and shedding headcount. Embrace innovation, especially in software.
A - Salary & Benefits | A - Culture | A - Management | A - Coworkers
Salary - B | Culture - D | Management - D | Coworkers - C
Pros: Good benefits, 2 IVF cycles covered, 16 weeks paid parental leave, can take up to 4 additional out of PTO. Sharp coworkers. Good work life balance for the pay.
Cons: The reversal of Michael Dell's 2022 "work from anywhere, remote work is here to stay" to 2024 not allowing remote workers to change jobs or pursue promotions is gut punch for my career. Also Dell has laid off 20,000 people in 2024 and not issued any public statements or statements within the company fro C-level on why. Honestly 1 year ago I would have had a glowing review, this has all changed in 2024.
Be more transparent on the strategy and why you are doing layoffs
