I worked at Dell from 2012-2023 (got laid off). It used to be a wonderful company to work for. I used to be so proud to state that I worked for Dell.
Dell has taken the human out of the job completly, and it's very clear you are just a number. They have lets 10s of thousands of people go, and now have changed their policy to full remote to full 5X a week in office.
Don't forget the good old days. Working at Dell used to be such a statement and accomplishment, now it's almost shameful.
A - Salary & Benefits | F - Culture | A - Management | C - Coworkers
Salary - B | Culture - D | Management - D | Coworkers - C
Pros: Good benefits, 2 IVF cycles covered, 16 weeks paid parental leave, can take up to 4 additional out of PTO. Sharp coworkers. Good work life balance for the pay.
Cons: The reversal of Michael Dell's 2022 "work from anywhere, remote work is here to stay" to 2024 not allowing remote workers to change jobs or pursue promotions is gut punch for my career. Also Dell has laid off 20,000 people in 2024 and not issued any public statements or statements within the company fro C-level on why. Honestly 1 year ago I would have had a glowing review, this has all changed in 2024.
Be more transparent on the strategy and why you are doing layoffs
