Pepsico Employee Review

Rewards bad behavior, No incentive for growth.

Pros

Freedom out in the trade. You?re not physically watched all day, you clock in at your first store and clock out at your last store, so if you have good work ethic and independence you will do fine. You can drive your personal vehicle and get paid mileage. Great benefits.

Cons

The management is non existent until you don?t meet a corporate metric, regardless whether you have any control over the situation or not. No accountability for the merch team under you that ?relieves? you when you?re off. You can?t discipline them and the management refuses to do so because they?d rather have someone who does poor work than have to go through the fire/rehire process. It?s a constant game of clean up. Sales reps are very micromanaged on metrics that are often near impossible to meet. No local opportunity for advancement in the company. You must be willing to transfer to make a career at pepsi and odds are slim even if you are willing to transfer of actually finding a manager who cares to help you advance.

Pros: The intern experience is fun; there are lots of after-work events. Management is enjoyable to work under.
Cons: The role after the internship requires engineers to work on the third shift for a year.

Pros: It was a good way to make decent money without a college degree. If you just do what your supposed to when it comes to stocking and building displays no one really bothers you.
Cons: You will work a lot

Send more help to the sales associates when they have big deliveries. They did get better with that as time went on.

  • Frito Lay BEWARERSR Route Sales Representative | Columbus, OH

    Salary - F | Culture - F | Management - A | Coworkers - F

Pros: No supervisor breathing down your back, somewhat able to create your own schedule.
Cons: Horrible communication, unrealistic plan numbers, new product forced out even if it doesn't sell which negatively impacts your pay, product that is nearing stale date in warehouse forced onto your order so it doesn't stale out in the warehouse and they can take money out of your check, low pay, target pay is based on 45 hours a week if you don't hit that then your pay is drastically cut. Ect, ect. Ect

Stop advertising a target pay and tell people what their base pay a year is without overtime. Stop preaching to follow planagram and force out product that has no spot in the planagram. Take responsibility for ordering to much product and stop putting that nearly stale product on your reps to have to credit out.

  • Could be Great but Corporate MentalitySales Representative | Denver, CO

Pros: Alot of Opportunity could make alot of money.
Cons: You expected to do way more than what is reasonable set up to fail.

Leaders grab the shovel and help there team especially when the sales reps do all the work. Other vendors like coke and 7up have it figured our Pepsi does not and they carry the most product it's insane the expectations for one person.
